Coventry's small groups run in a 4 month cycle.  Every 4 months the studies/topics and leaders change.  The studies are held on Sunday mornings from 10:30-11:30am in different rooms of the church and CE building.

September - December 2024

Option 1 - Hebrews Bible Study

The study of this book will help you to think about Jesus and hopefully know Him better!  Each week this group will read, discuss and meditate upon God’s word.  “The theme of Hebrews is the absolute supremacy and sufficiency of Jesus Christ as revealer and mediator of God’s grace through the new covenant.  The prophecies and promises of the Old Testament are fulfilled in the new covenant, of which Christ is the mediator.” (Hebrews introduction from NIV study bible)

Option 2 - Prepare to Stand

Pastor Andrew Brunson adds practical insights from his time of suffering for his faith in a Turkish prison, and from his life as a pastor in a non-Christian world.  The videos are full of Andrew’s no-nonsense answers for enduring adversities and persecution, learned from his difficult two years of imprisonment.  Attenders will watch 8 videos, discuss content from a study guide, and reflect on bible passages as they are invited to prepare their hearts and minds to become and remain faithful followers of Jesus, no matter what struggle they may endure.

Option 3 - Sermon Rewind

This small group offers the chance to reflect on the morning sermon and spend time thinking about application.  It may surprise you and or encourage you to learn what others have heard from the sermon.  The format of this group also allows attenders to get to know each other and for people to show up whenever they are available and be able to jump right into the conversation.

Option 4 - Coventry Kids

Teams of 5 (child clearances needed) will teach Bible lessons, lead active games, construct crafts, and lead worship to a growing group of children at Coventry

Option 5 - Before the Booth

This group will read and discuss a book written to help guide the Church during the upcoming election process.  The short articles invite followers of Jesus to remain Kingdom of Heaven focused.

Sixteen pastors and ministry leaders – women and men, folks from the Gen-Z, Millennial, Gen-X, and Baby Boomer generations, Black, White, Asian-American, and Latino, representing ten churches from various denominations and six parachurch ministries operating in the greater Pottstown area – each provide their perspective on timeless biblical principles aimed at helping to align the soul of the Church with the heart of Jesus during this politically divisive time.” (Book description)

Option 6 - Busy Moms (Mothers of school aged children)

This group is designed to support Christian mothers who are balancing all of the demands of being a mother, wife, professional, etc.  The goal will be to build a sisterhood in Christ, finding strength and encouragement as you navigate the busy seasons of life.  Each session will include a time of devotions and bible study, fellowship and light snacks.  This group will be a joint group between Coventry Church and Connection Church.  The group will meet at Coventry Church, third floor main building.

Option 7 - Chimes Choir

This group (adults and older youth) will share a brief devotion and a time of prayer with one another, then practice playing chimes in preparation to play at Coventry Church’s 300th birthday celebration.  Alicia Neri will be leading this group.
