At Coventry Church we have a rich history of men and women dedicating their lives to serve the Lord in the mission field. From America to Africa to China, there have been missionaries sent out from our congregation to many corners of the world. No matter where they've gone, these men and women relayed the most important message that "Only Jesus saves". As we continue to serve the Lord, we expect to have more missionaries rise up from our midst and be sent to the lost!
Nathan and Jessica Smith serve with SEND International in Taiwan. Nathan serves as the Director of Mobilization for SEND GCM (Global Chinese Ministries) which oversees the recruitment and deployment of people who are exploring cross-cultural ministry opportunities, particularly among Chinese-speaking communities in Taiwan and other parts of Asia. Jessica is actively involved in local outreach ministries, including a weekly children's story time at the public library and a women's English conversation group. Together with their three children, they seek to make Christ known in Taiwan and encourage others to join God's mission among the nations.
Mike and Rachel serve in Boston, Massachusetts, focusing on making disciples of international students studying in Boston. They want to help Christian international students grow as disciples of Christ and be equipped to reach non-Christian friends and classmates. They also want to help spiritually open non-Christian international students hear the gospel in culturally relevant ways, read the Bible and experience the body of Christ.
God called Terry and Krystie DePue to Eagle, AK in 1997 for Terry to serve as the pastor of Eagle Bible Chapel. Terry has continued in that role for the last 29 years and they have seen God’s faithfulness as they minister in a very remote slice of Alaska. God blessed Terry and Krystie with 6 children, 3 natural and 3 adopted. Jonathan, their oldest, is a Huey pilot in the Marine Corps and is stationed at Camp Penelton in California. He and his wife Shayna just welcomed Terry and Krystie’s 4th grandbaby, Benjamin Zane, into the world May 9th. Isaac served in the Air Force for 7 ½ years and separated in July of 2025 is now living in Glennallen, AK and just recently got engaged to a wonderful young woman Michaela Blair. Isaac just started a new job working security for the Alaska Pipeline. He and Michaela plan to settle in the Glennallen area. Kathryn and her husband Zack are stationed in upstate New York where Zack works as a nuclear engineer for a prototype nuclear plant. Kathryn and Zack welcomed their beautiful daughter Abigail Joy on January 1 this year. Zack is slated to separate from the Navy by the end of the year and he and Kathryn hope to move to Alaska. Wesley and Lizzy are living in Cheyenne, WY and Micah Steele joined their family on May 9th as well much to the delight of his parents and big brother Asher. The youngest 2 of the gang Paul and Jude are working to finish high school in the next couple of years and see where God takes them.

After spending forty years in Central Europe in ministries with Campus Crusade for Christ as well as Context Scripture Translating, Carl & Caroline felt it was time to make one final move to the U.S. They knew they did not want to kickback and retire, but they wanted to continue to use the ministry skills that they had gained through the years of working with people. Although they live off the beaten track in the Cumberland Valley of Pennsylvania, they are closely involved with a bible translation team in Poland that is working on a new translation of the New Testament into modern Polish. Carl provides them with Greek markup texts as well as feedback on translating questions to aid them in their translating efforts. Additionally, Carl & Caroline are involved locally helping some of the young men from the Old Order Amish to get a contextual understanding of the New Testament scriptures. It has been a cross cultural experience and a good opportunity to use their German language skills and their insights into the German culture of Europe.

Brian and Liz are introducing and encouraging college students to know Jesus as Savior and Lord and challenging the students to grow in their faith becoming disciples of Jesus. Brian was introduced to Coventry through his high school friend Tim Egolf and the Egolf family. The Parkers are blessed with six children: Thaddeus, Titus, Theophilus, Reese, Timothy and Rochelle.
Bob and Judy have worked in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Texas. In each location, Bob and Judy have served to empower local leaders to grow their churches to the next level. Now in Virginia serving at the Ladysmith Spanish church, Bob preaches in Spanish and self-translates into English. Bob and Judy serve at two local food pantries, reaching out to the Hispanic community. Bob met our former pastor, John Hostetter, in college who then introduced Bob and Judy to Coventry Church. Bob and Judy also hosted and served with Bethany Egolf Barto during her years in the Dominican Republic.
We are serving with a Seminary and a Costa Rican sending agency in Costa Rica, to support Latin Americans who dedicate their lives to share the love of Jesus Christ among those who have never heard of Him or even yet have the Bible in their own language. Our vision is the formation of Christ’s character in these Latin brothers and sisters. Paul teaches Cross-cultural Ministry courses and together with Nancy we provide training in issues of the heart, to strengthen the work of these individuals among unreached peoples around the world. Once these cross-cultural workers are living in their countries of service, together with a Latin Member Care team, we follow through by caring for their emotional, spiritual and physical needs.
Jason and Hollie Casper have served as full-time missionaries with ISI (International Students Inc.) since 2012. ISI’s mission is to share the love of Christ with every international student and equipping them for effective service in cooperation with the local church. Many of the nation's "best and brightest" are studying here in the USA as international students, and will often return home as leaders in business, technology, government, education, etc. Additionally, many of these students come from least reached and restricted access countries for the Gospel. The church has a unique opportunity to share Christ with these future leaders, preparing them to be ambassadors for Christ to their home cultures (think Global Missions in Reverse). The Casper family live in Brooklyn NY and are reaching students at New York University.
Denny and Cindy have served in building construction ministries in Africa and are currently in Texas to enable Bible translation to continue. Denny is currently working on replacing the International Linguistic Center’s mobile home park with modular homes, which he hopes to complete before he retires. Denny grew up at Coventry Church and recalls singing in the choir. Denny and Cindy have three grown children with families in Texas.
Bob and Claire served in the Netherlands and moved to the United States a few years ago. Bob provides fiscal responsibility in the Finance Department as TRW spreads hope to the world through radio broadcasting. Bob became known to Coventry Church through Ladson Saylor, Eleanor Barr’s brother and former missionary architect in Costa Rica.
Our names are Sam and Hannah Ehst. I (Sam) lived in Douglassville my whole life and grew up with the Cushwa family. Hannah is from Davie County, NC, where we currently serve with FCA. Once we both graduated from Liberty and felt the Lord calling us to FCA, we immediately moved back to Davie.
Schuyler Kitchin is a campus minister in Boston with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. He is called to pastoral work among young artists, specifically at Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory, with a longing for followers of Jesus to grow in intimacy with Him and in wisdom concerning life as a Christian in the arts industry, and for the lost to encounter Jesus. He helps manage and care for the Christian community on campus, training leaders, hosting Bible studies, and more. He and Hannah will marry in August 2026 and will live in East Boston, where they enjoy walking along the harbor as the sun sets.
